- Open a provider's key page below and create a key (most take under a minute).
- Set a spend limit at the provider first, so you can never be overcharged.
- Paste the key into ByteChat — we auto-detect the provider and load its model list.

A note on the “sk-” keys: DeepSeek, Kimi and Qwen all issue keys in the same sk-… format, so when you paste one ByteChat asks a single quick question — “which of these is it?” — then loads your models. Every other provider is detected automatically.
